Tibet Overland Tour

For thousands of years, Tibet lay under the ancient Sea of Tethys. Tibet has been a mysterious and timeless land for centuries, cut off from the rest of the world by the mighty Himalayas. In spite of innovation it has reserved the beauties of its past, such as the fascinating Gompas, ancient markets, ever-smiling and fun-loving Tibetans and its amazing turquoise lakes. The journey passes through Nepal-Tibet border, through beautiful mountains and farming valleys.

Our Tibet Overland trip gives you enough time to visit Lhasa, which has long been known as the Forbidden City. The mighty Potala Palace, Drepung Monastery, Barkhor market and the holy Jokhang Temple are just a few of the fascinating sights we will take you to. We will more take you on an unusual voyage to the famous Tashilhump Monastery at Shigatse (or Xigatse), the historic town of Gyantse, and the beautiful lake of Yamdrok Tso amidst the spectacular view of snow capped peaks including northern face of majestic Mt. Everest.

The Tibet Overland trip is the most adventurous route among the others as it offers the panoramic views of the high mountains including the highest peak Everest (8848m) with Langtang, Xixapangma, Makalu, Lhotse, Cho Oyu etc. We get chance to pass by the high passes like Nyalam Pass (3750 m), Tong-La (5120m) La Lung-la (5124m), Gyatso-la (5220 m) etc.. We drive passing Tingri (4390 m) to visit Gyantse, Tibet’s second-largest city, lying near the union of the Nyang Chu and the Tsang Po, on the main route between Gyantse and West Tibet.
