The Kathmandu Valley Biking Tour
While adventure biking in the Kathmandu valley, you will succession through stunning villages, see great mountain views and meet the great people of Nepal.
The great Himalayan views, the kingdom of temples of Kathmandu, the traditional Nepali culture and amazing mountain biking terrain in the Kathmandu valley makes your trip memorial forever.
This ride can be done most of the year, however in the monsoon month from late May to beginning of October it gets very hot and humid in the valley. This however shouldn’t keep you from coming if this is the only time of year you can get over here, because at the same time everything gets very lush and green and there is probably no more beautiful time to be in the Kathmandu valley. Just don’t be afraid of rain and some mud. When we ride in the city we don’t have any support as help is always close. But from day 3 when we head out of the city we have vehicle support. You will be staying in Hotels or little guest houses during the entire trip. |
- Day 01: Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu. You are welcomed by hospitable meeting and then you will be transferred to hotel. Our airport representative will explain briefly the program upon arrival. Overnight at Kathmandu.
- Day 02: Sightseeing of world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley including, Kathmandu Darbar square, Swayambhunath, Boudhanath stupa & Pashupatinath Temple. Overnight at Kathmandu.
- Day 03: Kathmandu to Mulkharka, 22km (1660m)
Today you leave Kathmandu via Budhanilkantha and enter the Shivapuri national park. Its uphill and a bit steep for the last 3km.you have Good views of the valley and once over the ring road its traffic free off road biking. You can visit a historic Gompa / Monastery. Overnight at Mulkharka.
- Day 04: Mulkharka to Chisopani 21km (2195m)
Today you follow a jeep track up and down into the heart of the national park. From Chisopani you can have good mountain views. Overnight at Chisopani.
- Day 05: Chisopani to Nagarkot 25 km (2000m)
Today is again traffic free riding as you leave Chisopani via the track and head up to Nagarkot. Nagarkot is a scenic hill top village and is famous for having the best mountain views in the valley.
- Day 06: Nagarkot to Dhulikhel 32 km (1600m)
Leave Nagarkot and go downhill for some way and rejoin the road for the short climb to Dhulikhel another ideal hill town. Overnight at Dhulikhel.
- Day 07: Dhulikhel to Kathmandu via Bhaktapur 32km (1300m)
- Day 08: Transfer to International airport for your home departure.
