Island Peak
Island Peak is also known as Imja Tse and is one of the most popular trekking peaks in Nepal for mountaineering. Island Peak is the most sought after trekking destination because of its challenging geographical conditions. This Island Peak trek offers us enchanting views of Mt, Everest (8848m.), Lhotse (8516m), Amadablam (6856m.) and numerous others peaks and at the same time it draws the attention towards monasteries and traditional Sherpa villages. Such a massive glance of the Himalayan peaks can create a pleasant wave of contentment.
This trip is similar to the Everest treks. The Island Peak trek can be started via the air service from Katmandu to Lukla or a drive to Jiri of 184 km. The Island Peak trek starts from trek to Lukla and then continues up past Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, Imaja Glacier to the Base camp of Imja Tse or Island peak and returns via the same route to Kathmandu. At 6189 metres, Island Peak is not among the Himalayan giants, but nevertheless provides an elating mountaineering experience to the beginner and expert alike. No technical mountaineering skill is necessary to climb Island Peak, simply a high level of fitness and the desire to push yourself to the limit. |
- Day 1:Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu. You are welcomed by hospitable meeting and then you will be transferred to hotel. Our airport representative will explain briefly the program upon arrival. Overnight at Hotel.
- Day 2: Sightseeing of world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley including, Kathmandu Darbar square, Swayambhunath Temple , Boudhanath Stupa & Pashupatinath Temple. Overnight at Hotel.
- Day03: 30 Minutes morning flight to Lukla 2800m. & trek to Phakding 2610m, 3 hrs O/N guest house. B.L.D
- Day04: Trekking from Phakding to Namche Bazaar 3440m.5 hrs O/N guest house. B.L.D
- Day05:Namche rest for acclimatization, on this day our guide will take you to some highest point, like Everest view hotel (the world’s highest 5star hotel 3880m) and khumjung old Sherpa village in Everest region for your acclimatization O/N guest house. B.L.D
- Day06: Trekking from Namche to Thyanboche 3800m.5 hrs. 5 hrs O/N guest house. B.L.D
- Day07: Trekking from Thyangboche to Pheriche 4200m.4.5 hrs O/N guest house. B.L.D
- Day08: Trekking from Pheriche to Lobuche 4900m.4 hrs O/N guest house. B.L.D
- Day09: Trekking from Lobuche to Everest base camp 5346m and back to Goreshep 5181m 8 hrs O/N guest house. B.L.D
- Day10: Early mourning hiking to Kalapatthar 5545m. For rewarding view of whole Khumbu himalaya including Mt. Everest, Lhoste, Pumari, Nupste, Amadablam, Thamserku, Nirekha and other many more smaller peaks then down to Gorapshep and trek back to Dingbuche 4410m. 5 hrs O/N guest house. B.L.D
- Day11: Trekking from Dingbuche to Island peak base camp 5000m.5 hrs O/N Tented camp. B.L.D
- Day12: Trekking from Island BC to High camp 5300m. Approx.3 hrs O/N Tented Camp. B.L.D
- Day13: This day our climbing guide wake you early in the morning about 1:00 clock in the morning and start climb from High Camp to Summit 6120m. and back to base camp 9 to 10 hrs O/N Tented camp. B.L.D
- Day14: Trekking from Base Camp to Thyanboche 3800m.6 hrs O/N guest house. B.L.D
- Day15: Trekking from Thyanboche to Namche Bazaar 4 hrs O/N guest house. B.L.D
- Day16: Trekking from Namche to Lukla 7 hrs. O/N guest house. B.L.D
- Day17: 30 minutes flight to Kathmandu O/N Hotel. B.B
- Day18: Free day in Kathmandu ( it is also spare day incase of bad weather in Lukla) O/N Hotel. B.B
- Day19: We wil drop you to international airport for your Final Departure. Farewell !! B.
